Guilderland

You wouldn't think that the town with the Capital Region's largest shopping center could be so rural. But take a drive out past Crossgates Mall into the thick of the Town of Guilderland, and you will see a suburb replete with woods, farms and fields.

In fact, Guilderland is home to the region's most famous wild space, the Pine Bush, with miles of hiking, biking and running trails. Its pine tree-spotted suburbs offer quiet, modern living in a town of 32,000- only a few minutes from Albany's western borders.

Head further west and you'll see homes along hilly, meandering country roads or near farms or apple orchards that are still in operation. With a variety of parks, natural areas and golf courses, it's a fine community for lovers of the outdoors. And the nearby villages of Voorheesville and Altamont offer small-town living that has changed little in generations.

With the Guilderland School District, one of the region’s best, and a wide selection of both modern home and historic farm properties, Guilderland has much to offer any homeowner.

Description: suburban, small town, rural. Mature and newer housing stock.
